State Utility Contractors, Inc., headquartered in Monroe, North Carolina, began operations in early 1985, its principals consisting of key management personnel of The Dickerson Group. The construction experience and management philosophies of the principals of State Utility Contractors therefore predate the Company’s formation by nearly twenty years. State Building Group is a construction division of State Utility Contractors, Inc.
The State Building Group team consists of key personnel that have been producing quality projects for over 35 years. Our commitment to catering to our client's needs with a straightforward, honest approach is what has made us successful. Nearly 80% of our work is attributed to repeat business or the result of referrals because of clients who value our high performance record. Strong finance and bonding are critical in todays business environment. We have an “untested” bonding program with our surety, spanning over a 26 year relationship. Our comprehensive insurance provider is strong and has been with the same company for over 26 years.
Our Safety Program has the full attention of every employee, beginning with the President. The strong safety program we have for new employees is mandatory regardless of position within the company. At least weekly “Tailgate” Safety meetings and routine, daily site safety inspections are conducted by our project superintendents or our company safety officer.
We maintain an active and ongoing alcohol and substance abuse program, and we require pre-employment and random drug testing of all employees.
